Behaviour Based Safety Best Practice

Behaviour Based Safety programs have been shown to increase awareness of
safety expectations, to contribute towards continuous improvement in safety
performance and to lead to achieving the desired safety goals and targets.
This document provides guidance to those organizations seeking a path to
implementing a Behaviour Based Safety Program.

Report and Inventory 
A report and inventory prepared by the Canadian Centre for
Occupational Health and Safety for Alberta Employment and Industry. This
inventory identifies over 490 Best Practices from Canada and around the
world. It provides links to the documents, identifies journal citations or
provides website addresses.

Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace - Alcohol and Drugs Guideline
and Work Rule 
The purpose of the Canadian Model is to ensure a safe workplace for all
workers by reducing the risks associated with the use of alcohol and drugs.
This is a best-practice alcohol and drug policy that all stakeholders within
the construction industry can adopt and follow.

Cranes and Hoisting Best Practice 
This Best Practice focuses on all mobile crane and hoisting equipment with a
capacity of 5 tons or greater (including boom trucks). Included in this Best
Practice are those common practices and standards for more consistent
application within the construction sectors.
