Approved Training Courses
Alberta Employment and Immigration (E&I) works with approved training agencies across the province. This ensures that workers with jobs in the areas listed below receive the health and safety training they need.
E&I approved training courses:
- Asbestos Worker Training
- Audiometric Technician Training
- Emergency mine rescue at surface mines*
- Explosives Safety Training and Blaster's Permit
- First Aid Training
- Pulmonary Function Training
Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation requires training programs for these activities which must be approved by E&I.
*The training program for emergency mine rescue is administered by the Alberta Mine Safety Association.
No other occupational health and safety training programs are required to be approved by E&I. However, employers must ensure that workers are adequately trained and competent to perform their work.
