Approved Training Courses

Alberta Employment and Immigration (E&I) works with approved training agencies across the province. This ensures that workers with jobs in the areas listed below receive the health and safety training they need.

E&I approved training courses:

Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation requires training programs for these activities which must be approved by E&I.

*The training program for emergency mine rescue is administered by the Alberta Mine Safety Association.

No other occupational health and safety training programs are required to be approved by E&I. However, employers must ensure that workers are adequately trained and competent to perform their work.

Occupational Health and Safety Council

The OHS Council is an administrative body, which operates arms length from government. The Council advises the Minister on OHS matters and serves as an appeal body for orders issued by Occupational Health and Safety.
