The Occupational Health and Safety Incident Cost Calculator helps business owners to better understand all the costs associated with workplace injuries and illnesses.
The “Start” section provides an overview of how the costs are determined and information on how these incidents can be avoided.
The “Calculator” section allows you to select an incident scenario or calculate your own costs by creating your own scenario.
This calculator was developed by the Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia, and adapted by us to meet the requirements of Alberta small business employers. Although it has been developed to assist small businesses, it may be useful for medium sized businesses as well.

Occupational Health and Safety Council
The OHS Council is an administrative body, which operates arms length from government. The Council advises the Minister on OHS matters and serves as an appeal body for orders issued by Occupational Health and Safety.
