Land Agent Advisory Committee

The Land Agent Advisory Committee has been established under section 23 of the Land Agents Licensing Act. The purpose of the Committee is to make recommendations to the Registrar or the Minister of Employment and Immigration ("Minister") respecting the qualifications of applicants for licences, standards of conduct of land agents and any other matters requested by the Minister or the Registrar. The Committee is comprised of the Registrar and 8 to 12 members appointed by the Minister. At least four of the members are land agents and at least four members are landowners. One of the members is appointed by the Minister as the chairman and the Registrar acts as the secretary of the Committee. The term served by a member of the Committee can not exceed three years and no member can be appointed for more than two consecutive terms.

The present Committee is made up of 4 people representing some of the major landowner groups or associations, one person from the Farmers' Advocate Office, 5 people who are land agents, an impartial chairman, and the Registrar.
