Foreign Qualification Recognition

Alberta moves forward in recognizing foreign-earned qualifications
Thirty projects improve processes for immigrants

Alberta has made significant progress on recognizing foreign-earned qualifications in the last two years, using new tools developed with professional organizations and helping newcomers start their credential recognition process before arriving in Alberta.

Foreign qualification recognition is the process of verifying that the education, skills and experience obtained in another country meet the standards established for Canadian workers. It is a complex issue involving various stakeholder groups.
