Canada Career Week helps Albertans pursue their potential
Albertans can learn how education and training link with the world of work during this year’s Canada Career Week, November 2 -7. The provincial theme of the week is People Pursuing Potential.

Out of work or thinking about changing jobs? Connect one-on-one with Career & Employment Consultants for assistance with career planning and information about training programs, meet potential employers, attend workshops or find out about job fairs in your area. Workshops are also available for employers looking to attract and retain employees.
Improvements to Employment Insurance expected to benefit Albertans
Long-tenured workers who have lost their jobs due the global recession may receive additional supports through the federal government’s Economic Action Plan. The federal government introduced two new Employment Insurance initiatives on May 25, 2009: the Extended Employment Insurance and Training Incentive (EEITI) and the Severance Investment in Training Initiative (SITI).
