Organizations invited to apply for Summer Temporary Employment Program
Annual program offers employment to students

Now is the time for not-for-profit organizations to apply to the Summer Temporary Employment Program (STEP). New this year, STEP is only available to students - secondary, post-secondary and recent graduates.

Workshops are also available for employers looking to attract and retain employees.


Improvements to Employment Insurance expected to benefit Albertans

Long-tenured workers who have lost their jobs due the global recession may receive additional supports through the federal government’s Economic Action Plan. The federal government introduced two new Employment Insurance initiatives on May 25, 2009: the Extended Employment Insurance and Training Incentive (EEITI) and the Severance Investment in Training Initiative (SITI).
